Underarm Sweating
Underarm Sweating
Underarm sweating, also known as axillary hyperhidrosis, is a common condition that occurs when the body produces excessive amounts of sweat in the underarm area. The exact cause of this condition is not fully understood, but it is believed to be related to overactive sweat glands that are triggered by a variety of factors, such as stress, anxiety, heat, and physical activity.
Botox, which is a brand name for botulinum toxin, can help reduce underarm sweating by blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands. When injected into the affected area, Botox can temporarily prevent the glands from producing sweat, which can provide relief from excessive sweating. Botox injections for excess sweating are generally safe and effective however it’s important to note that Botox injections are not a permanent solution and will need to be repeated every 6-9 to maintain their effectiveness.
