illumifacial®

illumifacial®

The illumiFacial® also known as the medical grade ‘Photofacial’ is the ideal treatment for:

  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Dull and tired skin
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Congestion
  • Improving skin texture
  • Age spots
  • Pigmentation
  • General redness
  • Vascular lesions

What does the illumiFacial involve?

The illumiFacial® represents an evolution of the popular ‘Photofacial’ procedure, employing an innovative blend of specialised Lynton skincare and potent, medical-grade Lynton IPL technology. This efficient and straightforward facial treatment significantly enhances skin tone and aesthetics, promoting a revitalised and radiant complexion.

What are the steps involved in the illumiFacial treatment?

The illumiFacial® consists of four stages:

Cleanse
The first step in achieving clear, healthy, radiant skin will involve a deep cleanse with your illumiFacial practitioner using a specialist formulation to remove any impurities.

Tri-Fruit Acid Peel
Following a deep cleanse, a unique Tri-Fruit Acid Lynton Fruit Peel will be applied to your skin, for anywhere between 3-10 minutes. This peel resurfaces skin texture and decongests pores, priming the skin ready for stage 3.

Lynton IPL
Post fruit peel, your skin will be at its optimum condition for the application of the award-winning Lynton Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment. This works by both stimulating collagen and targeting any discolouration on your skin, e.g freckles, pigmentation, vascular breakouts, general redness. In most cases, the results are instant, providing you with dramatically clearer, firmer skin.

Hydration & Protection
To help maximise the results of your illumiFacial treatment, a trio of specialist serums will be applied to your skin post-IPL, helping soothe, regenerate and protect your skin.

Is illumiFacial® right for me?

This treatment is ideal for individuals with skin congestion, discoloration, and visible signs of ageing. However, a comprehensive consultation is conducted before treatment to determine your suitability and specific treatment requirements. A personalised treatment plan will then be developed to address your specific concerns, all with the goal of enhancing the appearance, texture, and overall health of your skin. Be aware that some darker skin types may be unsuitable for this treatment.

What can I expect after the illumiFacial?

You might feel a mild tingling sensation on the skin, and you may notice darkening of pigment spots before they exfoliate – indicating the successful achievement of a more even, radiant skin tone. In addition to clearer, healthier skin, you can expect continued enhancement of skin firmness and suppleness in the months following the treatment, as new collagen is stimulated deep within the skin tissue.

How does the treatment feel?

illumiFacial® is a very quick, comfortable treatment which is designed to provide you with ‘optimum skin health’. Some people will feel a slight tingling sensation when the fruit peel is first applied, but it very quickly subsides. The IPL aspect of this treatment can sometimes be mildly uncomfortable – most people describe the discomfort as feeling like a ‘quick pinprick’ and ‘warm feeling’, which is very tolerable.

What are the potential side effects?

The illumiFacial® is a fully non-invasive procedure that utilises safe, medical-grade equipment to minimise potential side effects. Immediately after treatment, your skin may appear red and slightly swollen, but this will quickly diminish. Some areas of dry skin may also occur, and in extremely rare cases, a small blister may form with temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. However, the majority of individuals experience no side effects, and any reactions typically resolve within a few hours, leaving the skin with a radiant look and feel.

Is there anything I should do before the procedure?

At least 4 weeks prior to treatment it is important not to use false tan, go on the sun and have pro longed exposure to the sun.

Do I need a patch test?

A patch test is recommended at least 48 hours prior on a small area of skin to determine the treatment parameters appropriate to your hair and skin type and to ensure there are no adverse side effects.
