Cherry Angioma

Cherry Angioma

Cherry angiomas are small, benign skin growths made up of blood vessels. They are typically bright red in color and can appear anywhere on the body, but are most commonly found on the torso, arms, and legs. Cherry angiomas are very common, especially in people over the age of 30, and are generally harmless.

ThermaVein is a medical device that uses a process called thermocoagulation to treat cherry angiomas. During the treatment, a small probe is applied to the surface of the skin, and a high-frequency current is used to heat the blood vessels within the cherry angioma. This causes the blood vessels to collapse, which in turn causes the cherry angioma to shrink and eventually disappear.

ThermaVein is a minimally invasive treatment that is generally well-tolerated by patients. It can be performed in clinic, and typically takes only a few minutes per cherry angioma. After the treatment, the area may be slightly red and swollen, but this usually resolves within a few hours.

Overall, ThermaVein is an effective and safe treatment option for cherry angiomas. However, it is important to note that some people may be more prone to developing cherry angiomas than others, and new cherry angiomas can develop over time even after treatment. If you are concerned about cherry angiomas or any other skin growths, it is always best to consult with your GP.
